3. WHAT YOU ARE BOOKING
A consultation booking is a booking for a scheduled consultation call with CareerIreland.
The consultation may be used to discuss matters such as:
- your immigration circumstances;
- potential immigration routes;
- eligibility considerations;
- questions arising from an online assessment;
- documentation considerations;
- application-related questions; and
- other immigration-related matters within the scope of the consultation.
The exact scope may depend on the consultation option selected at the time of booking.
4. THE CONSULTATION IS NOT AN IMMIGRATION APPLICATION
Booking a consultation does not itself constitute:
- a visa application;
- an employment-permit application;
- a residence application;
- a citizenship application;
- a naturalisation application;
- an application to Immigration Service Delivery;
- an application to the Department of Justice; or
- an application to any other Irish immigration authority.
Unless separately agreed and purchased, CareerIreland is not undertaking to file an immigration application as part of the consultation booking.
5. NO GUARANTEED IMMIGRATION OUTCOME
The consultation does not guarantee:
- visa approval;
- immigration permission;
- employment-permit approval;
- citizenship;
- naturalisation;
- entry to Ireland;
- renewal of immigration permission; or
- any other immigration outcome.
Any decision concerning immigration permission remains with the relevant competent authority.
6. BOOKING PROCESS
A consultation may be booked through the Website by:
- selecting an available consultation option;
- selecting an available appointment time;
- providing the requested information;
- completing the payment process; and
- completing any required confirmation step.
A booking is not considered confirmed until CareerIreland or its booking system has provided confirmation.
7. APPOINTMENT AVAILABILITY
Appointment availability may vary.
Available times may depend on:
- consultant availability;
- booking volume;
- weekends or public holidays;
- technical availability; and
- other operational factors.
CareerIreland does not guarantee that a particular date or time will always be available.
8. PAYMENT
The consultation fee displayed at the time of booking is payable through the Website's available payment method.
The applicable price should be displayed before the booking is completed.
Payment may be processed through a third-party payment provider, including Stripe.
9. PAYMENT CONFIRMATION
Following successful payment and booking, you may receive confirmation containing information such as:
- consultation date;
- consultation time;
- booking reference;
- consultation instructions; and
- other relevant appointment information.
You should check the confirmation promptly and contact CareerIreland if any material information appears incorrect.
10. PAYMENT SECURITY
Payment processing may be carried out through a third-party payment provider.
CareerIreland does not ordinarily retain complete payment-card details.
You should use only a payment method that you are authorised to use.
11. CONSULTATION FORMAT
The consultation will normally take place using the communication method specified during booking or in the booking confirmation.
The applicable format may include:
- telephone;
- online call;
- video call; or
- another communication method specified for the consultation.
The precise method may vary depending on the consultation service offered.
12. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY
You are responsible for:
- providing accurate booking information;
- providing a working telephone number where required;
- providing a valid email address where required;
- being available at the scheduled time;
- having a suitable device and Internet connection where applicable; and
- providing information reasonably necessary for the consultation.
13. PRE-CONSULTATION INFORMATION
CareerIreland may request information before the consultation to help understand the purpose of the appointment.
You should provide information that is:
- accurate;
- relevant;
- complete to the extent reasonably necessary; and
- not deliberately misleading.
You should not submit unnecessary passwords, payment-card security codes or other unrelated confidential information.
14. CONSULTATION CONTENT
The consultation may address the questions and circumstances raised by the customer.
The consultant may:
- discuss relevant immigration considerations;
- explain potential options;
- identify information or documentation that may require further consideration;
- discuss an eligibility-assessment result;
- explain general application considerations; and
- answer questions within the scope of the booked consultation.
The consultation does not necessarily include preparation or submission of an immigration application unless that is separately agreed.
15. CONSULTATION TIME
The consultation will be provided for the duration specified for the consultation option booked.
Customers should use the available consultation time efficiently and raise the matters they wish to discuss.
If a customer joins late, the consultation may still end at the originally scheduled time unless CareerIreland agrees otherwise.
16. LATE ARRIVAL
If you join or become available after the scheduled start time, the consultation may proceed for the remaining scheduled period.
Late arrival does not automatically extend the consultation.
Where reasonably practicable, CareerIreland may allow an alternative arrangement, but this is not guaranteed.
17. MISSED APPOINTMENTS
If you do not attend or cannot be reached at the scheduled time, the appointment may be treated as a missed consultation.
The consequences of a missed appointment are governed by the applicable Refund & Cancellation Policy.
18. RESCHEDULING
Where rescheduling is permitted, you should contact CareerIreland as early as possible.
A rescheduling request is subject to:
- availability;
- the applicable consultation terms;
- the timing of the request; and
- any restrictions applicable to the selected consultation service.
Rescheduling is not guaranteed.
19. CAREERIRELAND-INITIATED CHANGES
If CareerIreland needs to change or cancel a confirmed consultation, we will seek to provide reasonable notice where practicable.
Depending on the circumstances, we may offer:
- an alternative appointment;
- rescheduling; or
- another appropriate remedy.
Any mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
20. CUSTOMER-INITIATED CANCELLATION
The consultation booking is intended to secure a specific appointment slot.
CareerIreland's commercial policy is that consultation booking fees are non-refundable, subject always to any statutory cancellation, refund or other consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
The detailed rules applicable to cancellation and refunds are contained in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
21. STATUTORY CONSUMER RIGHTS
Nothing in these Terms removes or restricts any statutory right that applies to the customer.
Where Irish consumer law provides a right to cancel a distance contract, that right will apply in accordance with the relevant statutory requirements.
For online service contracts, Irish consumer law generally provides a 14-day cancellation period, subject to the statutory rules and exceptions.
22. REQUEST TO BEGIN THE SERVICE DURING THE CANCELLATION PERIOD
Where applicable law provides a cancellation period and you expressly request that the consultation service begin during that period, CareerIreland may begin providing the service before the cancellation period has expired.
Where the law permits this, cancellation may affect the amount that can be refunded for services already supplied before cancellation.
Where the service is fully performed during the applicable cancellation period and the statutory conditions for loss of the cancellation right are satisfied, the cancellation right may cease.
The applicable statutory requirements will govern in each case.
23. SERVICE QUALITY AND CONSUMER RIGHTS
CareerIreland remains responsible for providing the consultation service in accordance with the applicable contract and mandatory consumer-law requirements.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude statutory rights relating to the quality, conformity or provision of services.
Irish consumer law provides protections where a service does not meet the agreed or legally required standard.
24. NO REFUND FOR IMMIGRATION OUTCOME
The consultation fee is a fee for the consultation service.
The fee is not payment for a guaranteed immigration outcome.
A customer cannot claim a refund merely because:
- they are later found not to qualify for an immigration route;
- an immigration authority reaches an unfavourable decision;
- a visa is refused;
- an employment permit is refused;
- citizenship or naturalisation is refused; or
- the customer chooses not to proceed with a later application.
This does not limit any statutory consumer rights relating to the actual provision of the consultation service.
25. NO REFUND MERELY BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER CHANGES THEIR MIND
Subject to applicable statutory cancellation rights, the consultation booking secures an appointment slot and CareerIreland's commercial policy is that confirmed consultation fees are non-refundable.
Where a customer simply changes their mind outside any applicable statutory cancellation right, no discretionary refund is promised.
26. DUPLICATE PAYMENTS
If you believe you have made a duplicate payment for the same consultation booking, contact CareerIreland promptly.
We may investigate the transaction and, where appropriate, arrange correction of a genuine duplicate payment.
27. PAYMENT ERRORS
If a payment appears to have failed but funds have been deducted, contact CareerIreland and provide the relevant transaction information.
CareerIreland may need to verify the transaction with the payment provider.
28. CHARGEBACKS AND PAYMENT DISPUTES
If you believe a payment has been processed incorrectly, you should contact CareerIreland so that the matter can be investigated.
Nothing in these Terms prevents a customer from exercising any statutory rights or remedies available under applicable law.
29. TECHNICAL PROBLEMS DURING THE CONSULTATION
If a consultation is disrupted because of a technical problem, CareerIreland may consider an appropriate solution depending on the circumstances.
This may include:
- reconnecting;
- continuing through an alternative communication method;
- rescheduling; or
- another reasonable arrangement.
The appropriate response may depend on whether the problem arose from CareerIreland's systems, a third-party platform or the customer's equipment or connection.
30. CUSTOMER'S TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY
For online consultations, customers are responsible for having:
- a compatible device;
- an appropriate Internet connection;
- a working microphone where required;
- a working camera where required; and
- access to the communication platform specified for the appointment.
CareerIreland is not responsible for technical problems caused solely by the customer's equipment, software, Internet connection or incompatible device.
31. RECORDING OF CONSULTATIONS
CareerIreland will not assume that a consultation may be recorded by either party without considering applicable law and the rights of the people involved.
If CareerIreland intends to record a consultation for a specific purpose, appropriate information or consent will be provided where required.
Customers should not secretly record or distribute a consultation in a manner that infringes applicable law or the rights of others.
32. CONFIDENTIALITY
Information provided during a consultation will be handled in accordance with applicable confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is processed and shared.
Customers should also avoid providing unnecessary information belonging to other individuals.
33. CONSULTATION NOTES AND RECORDS
CareerIreland may retain appropriate records relating to a consultation where reasonably necessary for:
- service administration;
- customer support;
- quality management;
- complaints;
- legal obligations;
- accounting;
- security; or
- establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.
Such information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
34. FOLLOW-UP SERVICES
A consultation does not automatically include any additional service.
Additional services may include, depending on what CareerIreland offers:
- application preparation;
- application filing;
- document review;
- further consultations; or
- other immigration-related services.
Any additional service will be subject to its own applicable terms and pricing.
35. CONSULTATION RESULTS
A consultation may identify:
- potential immigration options;
- areas requiring further investigation;
- documentation requirements;
- potential eligibility issues; or
- other considerations.
The consultation does not constitute an official determination by an Irish immigration authority.
36. GOVERNMENT INDEPENDENCE
CareerIreland is an independent private company.
The consultation is not provided by:
- the Irish Government;
- Immigration Service Delivery;
- the Department of Justice;
- an Irish embassy;
- an Irish consulate; or
- another official immigration authority.
37. PERSONAL INFORMATION
Personal information collected during booking or consultation will be processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
This may include:
- contact information;
- booking information;
- payment-related information;
- consultation information;
- immigration-related information; and
- communications.
38. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
CareerIreland may use third-party services to support:
- payment;
- booking;
- communications;
- video or telephone calls;
- CRM;
- Website functionality; and
- other service functions.
Third-party providers may process information in accordance with their own terms and privacy practices.
39. CHANGES TO CONSULTATION SERVICES
CareerIreland may change:
- consultation formats;
- appointment systems;
- available durations;
- available appointment times;
- booking technology;
- payment methods; or
- other operational arrangements.
Changes will not affect a confirmed booking except where reasonably necessary and subject to applicable contractual and consumer rights.
